The few who are calling out for the Abandonment of Trans People are just those who always harbored prejudices and are those who banishment from the Coalition would only enrich and strengthen democrats. It's painful yes, but much like muscle building, the tearing and healing will only strengthen the ability to protect, it just sad that some need to be hurt only FOR THE cowards to reveal themselves. Fuck them and let those who truly wish to help other arise from the ruins of their fall.
Not sure where you got this map - I’m from New Mexico and we have been blue for many years. We have strong LGBTQ laws - In fact our constitution has always said marriage was between two consenting adults. For many years our anti-discrimination laws included sexual identity along with gender and gender identity. We did not “flip”.
We are a majority-minority state which means our Hispanic population exceeds the white population. Multiculturalism is written into our State Constitution so what is your point??
I don’t want to sound too blunt, but I think the issue for people is gender affirming care for minors. I think addressing that, talking about that, etc… Is the biggest hurdle the trans community and allies need to overcome and address meaningfully.
But people have been doing that. We have research and families speaking out on behalf of trans kids. The problem is transphobes refusing to listen and how many people don't see kids as having their own personal and desires outside of what they're told.
I hear you, but the overwhelming amount of evidence points towards gender affirming care for children is a good thing and reduces negative outcomes significantly. On top of that, gender affirming care has been done for 40+ years so far with NO issues. On top of that, the only real piece of evidence people AGAINST it use is the CASS review in the UK, which has been proven time and again to be a complete farce.
Historically, the approach of "think of the children" has been used to justify segregation in schools, persecution of gay people, and trans people. It's old hat. Nothing new, and always rooted in bigotry.
No politician belongs in the discussion. Period. Or a judge for that matter. Even in places like the UK where they don't allow it, it is the medical community making these decisions, not politicians. People get all bent out of shape about "but it's permanent" like puberty isn't??? Until you have actually been in the room and gone through this, you don't understand. No parent is waking up one day and just doing this. It takes months of research and discussions with doctors. It is an extremely involved and personal process that is not taken lightly by anyone. Ted Cruz doesn't care about the kids.

Please read the article and you'll understand what I'm arguing. This is a theoretical map that shows the influence LGBT voters have
I misunderstood your words, too.
Wrong, NM has not flipped and has a non discrimination law. Why did you do this, it's wrong?
New Jersey may have flipped, but we are still a Sanctuary State for LGBTQIA+ humans. Murphy enshrined protections into state constitution. https://www.nj.gov/governor/news/news/562023/20230404b.shtml
New Mexico is blue!! We did not elect FOTUS and all our Congress members are democrats!!
Hi, please read the article. NM is blue, yes. But only because of LGBT (and black, Latin, etc) voters--that's a mathmatical fact
We are a majority-minority state which means our Hispanic population exceeds the white population. Multiculturalism is written into our State Constitution so what is your point??
If you read the article like I suggested, you'll understand my point. Thanks!
Minnesota would never.
